The Curriculum

Best Brain International School applies the curriculum prescribed by the Ghana Education Service (G.E.S.) with a few modifications to meet current trends in Education. Computer Studies as a subject is pursued to introduce our children to the challenges of information / Communication Technology (ICT).

Primary Department

In the Primary Department (from Kindergarten to Class 6), the following subjects are taught:

Junior Secondary Department

At the Junior Secondary Level, thirteen (13) main subjects are studied, out of which ten (10) are examined at the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E):

Physical Education

Physical Education is compulsory and every child is expected to take part in it. Children are granted exemption only with the written permission of a medical doctor.

Homework

Homework is an important part of the educational programme designed to reinforce what is taught in the classroom. Each teacher gives sets his/her own homework assignment based on the subject and level of pupils/students. Parents should check with the school in case their wards persistently complain of having no assignments. Children should not use tippex to erase their work. Parents/Guardians are required to sign their wards’ homework with pen before they are submitted to the teacher in school the next day.

Co – Curricular Activities

Club/Talent Hunt activities are organized on Thursdays from 1:00pm to 3:00 is expected to belong to at least one of these groups. They are allowed to change the groups only at the end of one academic year. The following are the clubs available in BBIS.

BOOKS

Textbooks which are provided by the school remain the property of the school and pupils/students are to take proper care of them. Parents will be surcharged in case their wards damage or misplace any textbook or library book.

HOUSES

Each student / pupil shall belong to one of the recognized houses in school carefully named after some selected animals because of their special characteristics.
